aw thank you for the shoutout! 🩷 this was such an interesting read — i love deep dives like this!! plus that stat about dating sites preferring summer photos is SO weird but SO interesting. the joys of being a woman 🥴🤧
I am so happy to finally find an Aussie fashion writer on Substack!! So nice to read articles that are actually relevant to me and the seasons I am experiencing. Thank you xx
As a Brit who spent Feb-July of last year in Melbourne, I totally understand this difference in dressing for the seasons depending on which hemisphere you’re in! However I absolutely loved the heat in Melbourne as it didn’t feel overwhelming like it does in the UK and as for winter in Melbourne, that was like a chilly spring day for me! I also resonate with dressing better during the chillier months, as someone who doesn’t have the best relationship with my body I absolutely hate dressing for summer. The transition from summer to autumn is a struggle too
St Kilda is definitely not impressive hahaha, when I came back and people asked about Melbourne and if the beaches are nice I had to compare it to the likes of Skegness (Brtis… iykyk). Overall my time there has definitely had an influence on my current style, even one year on. I love and miss Melbourne ❤️ and I love everything about this post!
Thanks for the Melbourne love and your beautiful comment! Xx
We're certainly more well equipped for heat over here than the UK. And this winter was shocker but def not as cold as London weather.
Haha St Kilda beach def not great representation of beaches in Australia (or Victoria for that matter) but Ive also been known to get excited for any standard Euro beach as I didn't grow up near it so it's a novelty to me.

aw thank you ♥️ yeah it's cooked but unsurprising. the reasons they went into was because women looked "happier" and more "confident" 🙄
